Synthesis advances in extended-pot-life polyaspartic polyurea resins

Background of the study

Polyaspartic polyurea material has been widely used as a third generation polyurea technology with its rapid curing, excellence and environmental advantages. However, the traditional polyaspartic polyurea resin pot life is short (usually 30-60 minutes) and there is a problem of inadequate operating time in large areas of construction and complex conditions.

In response to this technological bottleneck, the Junaimei Research and Development Centre has successfully developed super-long, pot life breakthrough 120 minutes.

II. TECHNICAL PROGRAMME

2.1 Molecular Structure Design

  • Select high molecular mass polyether as the starting material
  • Introduction of a chain structure and increased space-level resistance to membrane
  • Optimizing ester structures and regulating electron cloud density

2.2 Catalyst System

  • Use latent catalysts to maintain low activity in the initial mix
  • The catalyst gradually releases activity over time.
  • Ensure that final curing performance is not compromised

Performance test results

3.1 construction performance

  • pot life :120 Minutes (25℃)
  • Touch-dry time:45 Minutes (25℃)
  • Hard-dry time:6 hours (25℃)
  • Construction temperature:-10℃ ~ +50℃

3.2 Mechanical Performance

  • tensile strength :≥20MPa
  • elongation at break :≥200%
  • adhesion :≥10MPa (steel base)

3.3 corrosive properties

  • salt-spray resistance :4000 hour without rust
  • Acid resistance:No abnormalities after immersion in 10% H₂SO₄ for 60 days
  • Resilient:10% Naoh impregnated 60 day-by-day

  • Suitable for extensive and continuous construction to avoid scratches
  • More time is available for complex structural construction to process details
  • Sufficient Lovering Time, smoother coated surface
  • Reduce material waste and increase material utilization

  • C1520:Pot life 90-120 minutes for corrosion protection, flooring
  • C1524:Pot life 60-90 minutes for waterproof, corrosion protection
  • C1330:Pot life 45-60 minutes, low viscosity
  • C2850:Pot life 90-120 minutes, super low viscosity

The successful development of Junaimei ' s super-long pot life polyaspartic polyurea resin has addressed the short technical bottlenecks of traditional polyaspartic polyurea materials pot life, providing better solutions for large areas of construction and complex conditions.
