Controlling pot life, gelation and curing rate in a coating system

Harmonization of time definitions first
Pot life usually refers to the time when after mixing the material can still meet the required adhesiveness or operation requirements; (b) The gel time description of the basic loss of mobility; There are different stages to this. Technical exchanges must identify which definitions and determination methods are used.
It is difficult to guide the site by writing only "operateable 40 minutes" without indicating temperature, mixture, packaging shape and determination criteria. It is suggested to record both viscosity over time and actual rolling status.
Temperature and volume effects
The speed of reaction is usually increased with higher temperatures. Material, environment and substrate temperatures can influence the outcome, and the temperature of materials in summer tan or metal drums may be much higher. Low temperatures, though extended, can also lead to slower curing, floating or increased pollution risks at an early stage.
The concentration of the material in the drums after mixing continues to heat up, and the larger the batch, the deeper the container, the faster the temperature. The site should have a small number of ingredients distributed in time for construction, and data from laboratory cups cannot be used directly to calculate the life of the entire barrel.
Order of formulation adjustments
Priority is given to the establishment of basic response windows through resin combinations with the hardener type, fine-tuning solvents, aids and catalytic factors. Forced changes in speed based on a large number of inhibitions or catalysts may result in stable storage, water resistance, inter-layer attachment or appearanceal side effects.
Each adjustment keeps the other variables unchanged, while tracking pot life, touch-dry, hard growth, bubbles, leaving and final mechanic performance, avoiding solving only one time indicator.
How to manage windows on site
A small sample is made based on the temperature of the material on the day before work begins, confirming the mixing balance and the operational time. The drums are marked at the beginning of the period and in the area of use, and are stopped immediately when the window is exceeded or when there is a clear increase in density, radish, block, and new materials or solvents are prohibited.
The construction organization should match the velocity of the ingredients with the ability to spread, with the edge prepainting, roller replacement and pre-positioning of personnel. Large area flooring would allow for the planning of zoning and closing positions and reduce the number of scarring caused by materials crossing windows.
Generate temperature curves with data
The R & D phase can create pot life and solid curves at temperatures representing 5℃, 15℃, 25℃, 35℃, and distinguish between thin and thick film. The results of the cups combined with different mixed volumes form an understandable construction schedule on the ground.
The final value should be based on the product-specific TDS and certification results. The curve should be reconfirmed after any change in resin, hardener or key assistor.
