6. From resin synthesis to finished-coating quality control
1. Resin synthesis establishes molecular structure
One common route reacts primary amines with reactants such as maleate esters to produce secondary-amine-containing components. Manufacturing must control conversion, residual reactants, color and storage stability. Producers choose the route, addition sequence and reaction conditions for the intended structure and quality targets, then use process monitoring and finished-product inspection to maintain consistency.
2. Formulation turns ingredients into a purpose-specific material
Development starts with a defined target: elastic waterproofing or a hard floor finish; a clear matte coating or a colored hammered finish; rolling or spraying. Resin, hardener and supporting components are then selected and assessed in laboratory trials. Without a clear objective, optimizing one property can become a cycle of sacrificing others.
Trials should assess application as well as fully cured performance. Mixed-material behavior over time, wetting and appearance during spreading, recoating and early opening to service are all part of product performance. A laboratory formulation that cannot be applied consistently is not yet a mature project product.
3. Dispersion is more than stirring until uniform

An absence of visible particles does not prove that color, gloss and storage behavior are stable. Conversely, some effect pigments and functional particles can be damaged by unsuitable processing. Different powders should not automatically receive the same equipment and processing intensity.
4. Adjustment, deaeration and filtration depend on the product
After primary dispersion, production may include color adjustment, rheology adjustment, post-addition ingredients, deaeration and filtration. Sequence depends on the formulation. Filtration must remove unwanted impurities while preserving intended functional particles; finer filtration is not always better.
Matte products need attention to matting behavior and redispersibility. Hammered products need a match between pattern formation and application tools. Small impurities and bubbles are especially visible in clear films, while textured finishes still require a distinction between intended texture and contamination.
5. Each packaged component must remain stable
After manufacture, the resin and hardener sides must remain stable separately. Sealing, cleanliness, storage and handling after opening all affect use. Water or foreign matter can change the material, so being within the stated shelf life does not justify ignoring unusual appearance.
Factories should monitor batches with appropriate quality checks, while site teams should record container identification and opening condition. Skinning, unusual particles, obvious separation or other abnormal changes require investigation before the material is introduced into a normal application batch.
6. Batch inspection, product evaluation and site trials serve different purposes
Batch release inspection emphasizes consistency and specified quality items. Development or type evaluation may cover a broader range of long-term properties. Site trial panels assess the actual project’s system and process. These complement one another; none replaces all the others.
Raw-material purchasing, finished-coating purchasing and installation procurement therefore need different documentation requirements. Supplying a resin does not establish the suitability of every finished system, and supplying a coating does not eliminate substrate preparation or site management.
